Frequently asked questions

What people ask before they sign

And what you should be asking too. Anything still unclear? Message us on WhatsApp and we'll answer today.

The conditions at a glance

Built for businesses

We lease to companies and self-employed professionals with a valid tax ID. If your company is registered elsewhere in the EU, we check its VAT number on the VIES register. We don't currently lease to private individuals.

Net prices, VAT on top

Every figure you see, on the website, in your offer and in your contract, is net. VAT (21%) is added on each invoice as a separate line.

One down payment, then a fixed fee

You pay a single down payment when you sign, then the same monthly fee until the contract ends. The down payment also serves as the security for the contract, so there's no separate deposit on top.

Insurance and GPS, each on its own line

Your monthly fee includes fully comprehensive insurance and GPS tracking, both itemised in your offer and on every invoice. Cover and excess are as set out in the policy, and a summary comes with your contract. We're upfront about the GPS: it's used for mileage, traffic fines, claims and the car's security, and your customer account shows mileage only, never location.

Your side: servicing, tyres and charging

Servicing, maintenance, tyres and charging are down to you. Rather not deal with it? Ask us for a separate service contract.

Two one-off fees at the start

At the start we invoice, once only, delivery with registration and the GPS installation (€500). The delivery fee depends on the car and is shown in your offer.

Road tax

The annual municipal road tax (IVTM) is on us: it doesn't appear in your fee or on your invoices.

Mileage

Every contract sets an annual mileage. We'll let you know as you approach it and when you reach it; any extra kilometres are settled on each contract anniversary and at the end, at the per-kilometre rate in your contract, plus VAT.

Your call at the end

When the contract ends you have three options: buy the car for the residual value fixed when you signed, hand it back, or start a new contract on the same car or a different one. If you buy, the car is sold as seen, with an inspection report, a fresh ITV (the Spanish MOT) and a battery state-of-health (SOH) report.

Whose car is it?

Throughout the contract the car belongs to us and is registered in our name on Spanish plates. It becomes yours only if you take up the purchase option at the end.

Not in our fleet? We'll source it

If the model you're after isn't in the fleet, we can bring it in: from dealer stock, no more than 5 years old, up to 60,000 km, with a full service history and worth at least €25,000 net. If the seller can't invoice with deductible VAT, your fee is worked out on a higher amount that includes that tax.

Contract

What exactly is rent-to-own?

In plain terms: it's an operating lease with a purchase option. You pay a down payment and then one fixed monthly fee — fully comprehensive insurance and GPS shown as their own lines — and from day one your contract states the exact price at which you can buy the car at the end: the guaranteed buyout price. That price never changes, whatever the market does. When the contract ends, the choice is entirely yours: buy it, hand it back, or swap it for another car. Buying is a right, never an obligation.

Who can sign up?

Companies and self-employed professionals with a valid tax ID: Spanish companies, companies registered elsewhere in the EU (we check the VAT number on VIES) and autónomos. We don't currently lease to private individuals. The contract, the invoices and the customer account are all in your company's name.

My company is registered outside Spain. Is that a problem?

Not within the EU: send us the company details and VAT number with your enquiry and we'll check it on VIES. We'll also need the representative's ID and the licences of the people who'll drive. If your company is based outside the EU, ask us first and we'll look at your case.

What is the down payment for? Do I get it back?

It does two jobs: it brings your monthly fee down and it's the security for the contract, so there's no separate deposit. How it's treated in each scenario (buying, handing back, leaving early) is written into your contract before you sign.

Is my UK, Irish or other foreign driving licence valid?

Licences issued in the EU or EEA are valid in Spain. If you live here and hold a UK or other non-EU licence, Spanish rules require you to exchange it within a set period after becoming resident. Send us a photo of the drivers' licences with your enquiry and we'll confirm everything is in order before you sign.

Insurance

What does the insurance cover?

It's fully comprehensive cover that we arrange and that sits in your monthly fee as its own line. Cover, exclusions and the excess are as set out in the policy, and you get a plain summary with your contract. If your offer shows the insurance as an “estimate”, the amount is confirmed with the final policy before you sign.

Mileage

What happens if I go over my kilometres?

Nothing dramatic. Excess kilometres are settled on each contract anniversary and at the end, at the per-kilometre rate written into your contract from day one (net, VAT shown separately). We'll let you know as you approach your allowance and when you reach it; if you can see you'll drive more, tell us and we'll review it.

End of contract

How does the buyout actually work?

Your contract states a residual value for the car. Want to keep it? Pay that amount, plus VAT, at the end and it's yours: the car is sold as seen, with an inspection report, a fresh ITV and a battery health report, and we prepare the transfer of ownership. Rather not? Hand it back under the terms of your contract. The price is fixed on day one and never moves.

What if the car is worth less than the buyout price at the end?

Then you simply don't buy it. Hand the car back, and the loss is ours, not yours — depreciation risk sits entirely with us. You would only ever buy if the numbers make sense for you. That's exactly why the purchase option is a right, never an obligation.

What if we leave Mallorca, or Spain, before the contract ends?

Talk to us as early as you can. Leaving early is agreed in writing, and we'll set out the settlement for your exact case (early return, transfer or early buyout) so you can decide with everything in front of you.

Payments

How do I pay, and are there any hidden fees?

By card, charged automatically each month; companies can also pay by SEPA direct debit. Every figure you see, on the website, in your offer and in your contract, is net; VAT is itemised on each invoice. The one-off items at the start (GPS installation, delivery and registration) are shown upfront in your offer.

Tax

Can my company reclaim the VAT on the fee?

It depends on your situation. For a Spanish company, the law presumes 50 % business use of a passenger car, so in principle half the VAT can be reclaimed; claiming more means proving the car is used only for the business. If your company is registered outside Spain, different rules apply. Your tax adviser will tell you what applies.

What if the car is also used privately?

Then the private share isn't deductible, and if an employee or director uses it in their own time, that use may be taxed as a benefit in kind. We can't assess your case, so do check with your adviser before you sign.

Is the monthly fee a business expense?

It can be, if the car is tied to your business, within the limits of the tax rules that apply to you. We don't promise any tax saving: it depends on your circumstances and on what your adviser confirms.
