Vehicle tracking (telematics)

LuxDrive vehicles carry a telematics (GPS) device fitted by us. It records the vehicle's position, mileage, battery condition and the condition of the device itself. We say so in the agreement (tracking and telematics clause) and here.

Purpose and legal basis: performing the rental agreement — settling mileage, attributing traffic penalties to the right moment and driver, handling accidents, theft and maintenance — and our legitimate interest in protecting the vehicle. We do not use position data to profile the driver or for marketing.

Who has access: the customer portal shows mileage only, never position. Within LuxDrive, access to positions is limited to expressly authorised staff and every query is logged with its purpose. Our telematics provider processes the data as a processor on our behalf.

Retention: positions are kept for the period set in our internal configuration and deleted automatically afterwards; daily mileage is kept for the duration of the contractual relationship and the statutory invoicing periods.

Your rights: you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection by writing to hola@luxdrive.rent. We reply within one month. If another authorised person drives the car, the customer undertakes to inform them of the device.
